I’ve been thinking a lot about Valentine’s Day this year. Normally I don’t really care one way or another about it, but this year our church is hosting a Kid’s Night on V-Day. What no kids ON Valentine’s Night? This will be a first. Two hours to ourselves. What to do? I want to be thrifty and I want to be green. These are the options going through my head… Romantic Dinner at Home. We have never done this and maybe this year will be a first? Debating about cooking the meal together or one of us surprising the other. {Really, I would love for Hubby to cook for me!}.
Fresh Flowers from Local Farmers. This time of year the markets are not open and Whole Foods flower department may have to do.
Special Handmade Gifts. Search Etsy and you may find the perfect one. Recently I bought a keychain for Hubby that holds a penny from each of the years we were born and has “Lucky Us” imprinted on it.
Create a Coupon Book that can be used throughout the year. Add chores like ‘scrub the grill clean’ or ‘make dinner tonight’ to rewards such as ‘a massage tonight’.
Fair Trade & Organic Chocolates. This girl needs a little chocolate on this day…well everyday. ha! You?
Plant Something Together. Watch it grow and bloom over the years…just like your love.
Don’t Forget the Music. Create a playlist with both of your favorites…oldies and newbies!
Write a Love Note. If I could only have one of these options on my Valentine’s Day this one would be it! Handwrite it out on your favorite stationary or maybe print out on some lovely card stock. Doesn’t cost any money and will be something cherished forever.
Do you have any ideas to add to be Romantic and Green?
